I first got into this band when they were called the Flesh Peddlers and I read a review that said their album sounded like it was recorded by a bunch of Tweakers who broke into Trent Reznor’s studio and set it on fire and tried to make an album before the studio burned down.
The Flesh Peddlers sound was frantic and trashy, but as Avenpitch they cleaned up the sound a bit and settled for a more consistent sound. They mix bad vocals with happy synthpop, and it works.
